My eyes are opened - September 4, 2007
True story everyone! When I draw with pencils I’ve recently approached a shape or figure with lines of great ease and agility. Often I draw the line before I have even planned it. The result can often look pretty random and ‘alive’.
My best (or worst) experience doing that was with my image called journey. It is a pencil drawing which is colored gently on my computer. Using the technique I sort of described earlier I got some what a result. I was happy about the sketch and scanned it into Photoshop and finalized it.
The point: I later posted this on conceptart.org. I got feedback and some of it regarded the eye on the ‘balloon thing’. I just suddenly realized that the eye was open! I thought I had drawed it closed, and three months later it turns out that it looks open. It must have happened somewhere between scan and coloring that the ‘closed eye’ just opened. A few highlights or contrasts added must have grabbed my random lines and made them look like a pupil and iris 
Random lines are scary. Now I can never see it as closed again
